Stormy weather blankets Cyprus, but it will remain warm

A BOUT of unsettled weather is crossing Cyprus, providing the island with much needed rain-showers.

There have been rain showers stretching from Ayia Napa in the east to Paphos on the west coast – winds have also been strong on south-western coasts.

However, despite the overcast conditions, it will remain warm with temperatures on the coasts averaging around 27C.

Storms are expected in some areas, especially inland in the Troodos Mountain region.

Evenings are expected to remain mild, at around 16C.

The unseasonable weather is expected to last until Saturday, when sunny conditions will return.
